花ざかりの君たちへ- Hanazakari no Kimitachi e- For You in Full Blossom

How could this drama go unmentioned? I dunno... because it's so dang addicting!! I mean, who can resist an all guys school where people are accepted for their looks? you know there has gotta be a lot of stars... and there are! For the guys, Oguri Shun(Gokusen, Hana Yori Dango) and Ikuta Toma (Hachimitsu to Clover) both star. Although Oguri Shun plays the lead male, for me, Ikuta Toma's character and acting outshine Shun's in this drama. For the female lead, Horikita Maki (Nobuta wo Produce)was chosen and her character is totally different than Nobuta wo Produce, but totally believable. Here's a brief summary of the series.
Ashiya Mizuki (Maki) is a Japanese girl living in California. One summer, her favorite Japanese high jumper comes to California for a training camp. On her way to the training camp, Mizuki runs to a a buncha gangsters (isn't that just like the Japanese "American Stereo-Type?") and who saves her, but her favorite jumper, Sano Izumi (Shun.) However, in that process, Sano injures his leg. Now, a year or so later, he still hasn't returned to the high jump.
Mizuki makes it her goal to make Sano jump again. She decides to enroll into Sano's high school. Only problem? It's an all boys school! So Mizunu has to disguise herself as a guy! Of course this leads to all sorts of mishaps... even making her classmate, Nakatsu Shuichi (Ikuta Toma) think he's gay for falling in love with her!
This drama is ridiculously hilarious and cute. If you get the chance, watch it! It's available at streaming at...
