「～ている」は実際にその瞬間に動作を継続しているときにだけ使うとは限りません。
習慣としての行動、行動の傾向としても「ている」が使われることがあります。
"～ている" is not limited just to actions which are continuing at that moment. It is also used for habitual actions, and trends in behaviour.
- 私が乗っている車はフェラーリです。
I drive a Ferrari.
- 最近は毎日4マイル走っています。
Recently I've been running four miles a day.
- 田中さんが持っているスーツケースはゼロ・ハリバートンですよ。
Tanaka-san's suitcase is a Zerohalliburton, you know.
- あの店ではポイントカードを配っています。
That shop gives Reward Cards.
- 自宅から電車の駅までは自転車を使っています。
