Isn't this a bad example for でも? You're more likely to see it after a period than before a comma.
- Instances of でも in the examples database 840, of those 81 are at the start of a sentence.
- Maybe you should reexamine your assumptions.Paul b
- Just took a random sample of examples of でも and of the 10 on the first screen, the only one with a "but" meaning was also the only one at the start of the sentence.今でも accounted for a couple, and several more were question word+でも. One of them didn't even have でも in the text. Maybe you should take a closer look at the rest of the ~750 examples where it doesn't come at the start of the sentence.--Richvh
